Music Video

WARNING Contains graphic scenes of gore.

This was an easy one. Anthony and the Johnson’s video for Cut the World was released. Epic doesn’t begin to describe this video. Directed by NABIL and starring Willem Dafoe the scene is set with a married executive in your regular mind-numbing office building. The overall narrative has a mysterious ending but a quote from frontman, Antony Hegarty may shed some light on the meaning. Currently dabbling in directing, Anthony states that we “need more oestregen-based thinking” and that “future feminism” will make the world a better place. The actual song was written for the opera the Life and Death of Marina Abramović who happens to be the actress playing Dafoe’s co-star.

Mini [Faux] Doc

One of those mini film shot in a documentary style from Steelhouse Productions. Who loves PacMan!?

Motion Graphics

Crystal CG have stepped up to the mark and produced some Euro-poppy, Tron style graphics to be shown on the big screens at the Olympic events. These were brilliant but the detail on the fly through London segment is so good I couldn’t keep this to myself. If you want to see more for them head over to Creative Review and read about the set of Olympic graphics.

Until next week!
